New editor designate is announced for Property Industry Eye

We are very pleased to announce the imminent arrival of a valuable addition to the Property Industry Eye team.

As many of you know, for some time we have been seeking a suitable person to relieve our editor, Ros Renshaw, of the burden of the daily news reporting and enable her to concentrate more fully on the role of editorial director.

We believe we have found the ideal person in Neil Gerrard who will be joining us on January 2 as editor designate.

Neil is currently associate editor at The Caterer magazine and has previous experience leading a team of reporters on the news desk of a construction business journal and website. He won ‘News Reporter of the Year’ at the RBI Achievement Awards in 2008.

A graduate with a first-class honours degree in Modern Languages from the University of St Andrews, Neil has a young family and lives in Kent. In his spare time he is an avid photographer and cyclist. He’s also a supporter of Manchester City FC but we have decided we can probably live with that . . .

Neil will be gradually working into his new role with us and I know that he is looking forward to meeting our extensive network of friends and associates throughout the industry. We also know that you will find him extremely personable, bright and engaging.

I am sure that you will warmly welcome Neil to EYE and that you will enjoy his writing and reporting as he gets to grips with this fascinating industry we all inhabit.

In her editorial director role, Ros will continue to contribute regularly while overseeing the editorial direction of EYE. She will not be stepping back from the daily role of editor until we – and especially Neil – are ready. So you can be assured that EYE’s top quality journalism will always be in safe hands.

The latest appointment builds on our expanding team which includes Marc Shoffman, on editorial, and Selan Cenan, our advertising manager.

Neil is pictured below – and looks forward to meeting you

      Good luck Neil.

Perhaps you’ll try turn PIE into a bit more than a forum for high street agents to slag off online agents which is pretty much what it’s become lately.
