More experienced estate agents are becoming self-employed

There has been an increase in the number of estate agents across the UK launching their own businesses in partnership with The Agency UK.

Agents are partnering with The Agency UK from both conventional estate agencies, as well as online and other brokerage models, with the agent keeping 80% of the fees they charge as part of the arrangement.

There are now 50 self-employed partner estate agents working with The Agency UK, with plenty of room for further growth.

Steph Walker at The Agency UK said: “We are delighted to welcome all of our newest partners, who are already becoming the go-to agents in their area for the offering they can provide sellers.

“I genuinely believe that our industry is starting to recognise and embrace the benefits of working for themselves. Whatever desires and ambitions you have, any motivated estate agent can achieve them here at The Agency UK.”

“For me, the real sweet spot is the benefits of a branded network and that special feeling you can only get from being a part of something bigger than yourself,” he added.

Nick Brown, who operates in Cornwall, recently celebrated one year in business with The Agency UK.

He said: “I joined The Agency UK from Countrywide. My previous role as a branch manager saw my days dealing with HR issues and filling out spreadsheets.

“Now not only have I had the chance to double my earnings year on year, but I am also back doing the job that I love. I know how to sell homes in Cornwall successfully, and The Agency UK know how to support my business in every other facet. Compared to the other self-employed models I looked at, not one came close to what The Agency UK could offer me.”

What is the difference to all the other defunct business that tried this model. Do they have the mega £m’s to support or will they be here today and gone just as quick? You need one massive advertising budget to get noticed. Another golden goose promise?

They need to get their web site up to speed with regularly requirements with advertising and as for content of some sales brochures are produced …. not impressed.
