Man denying racist rant at estate agent to face trial

A man has appeared in court over an alleged racist rant at an estate agent.

The incident is said to have taken place in Dewsbury, Yorkshire, two years ago.

Perry Booth, 59, denies a charge of using racially-aggravated threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause a person to fear violence.

Prosecutor Andy Wills told Kirklees magistrates that Booth was at the estate agents but totally denies any racial slurs, his solicitor Erica Topham said.

His trial will take place at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court on September 20.
