‘Lustworthy Listings’ aims to satiate the desires of the curious

According to the mortgage advice company money.co.uk more than half (57%) of the UK spends their free time browsing property portals like Zoopla and Rightmove.

Two-fifths of them (82%) admit using property sites as escapism, searching for homes priced ‘significantly higher’ than their top-end budgets.

Brits spend up to 75 minutes every week, the equivalent to almost 3 days a year, drooling over property listings, and 16-24 year-olds spend almost two hours (108 minutes) per week on property sites.

Now, property-obsessed people can look through the keyhole of the most expensive properties in their area, using the money.co.uk Lustworthy Listings explorer, which is powered by Zoopla.

Users can input a postcode to explore the 12 most up-to-date super-mansions in their area.

Clearly hopeful regarding the future of their finances, almost one in three searching online for properties outside of their budgets admit they like to see what they could buy should they come into a large inheritance or win the lottery (32%).

James Andrews, senior personal finance editor at money.co.uk, said:

“Our Lustworthy Listings explorer has been created in order to help users gain a fascinating insight into how the other half live. The explorer reveals how much some of the most stunning homes for sale in the UK would cost in terms of minimum deposits and monthly repayments. It also shines a light on the varying asking prices of expensive estates across different regions, cities and postcodes of the UK.
