LonRes, together with compliance partner, iCompli, has launched a new range of GDPR Services designed to keep estate agents GDPR compliant.
Cost-effective data protection for all LonRes subscribers is the aim here. The partnership launch comes at a time when both cyber incidents and fines for breaches of personal data are on the rise.
The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) is the UK’s supervisory authority for GDPR and is responsible for issuing monetary penalties which for lesser offences can be in excess of £8m.
Anthony Payne, managing director of LonRes said: “The sensitivities around the handling of personal data, including identification and finance documents, has never been greater. Anti-money laundering regulations have added additional layers to what has become an increasingly complex area of legislation. Partnering with iCompi, a leading expert in GDPR, means that LonRes subscribers have access to low-cost training and services that keep their business safe from data protection breaches and consequential fines.”
Duncan Smith, founder of iCompli added: “The risk of receiving a fine for breach of personal data is on the rise in the property sector as the number of recorded cyber and non-cyber incidents increases, so agents cannot afford to be complacent. We are delighted to be partnering with LonRes in delivering practical industry-specific data protection services to property professionals and helping to demystify what is often regarded as a complex and troublesome problem.”
