Live chat operator launches ‘pavement to agent’ initiative if offices have to close

Live chat provider Yomdel is providing agents with window cards complete with QR codes in a ‘pavement to agent’ initiative.

When scanned on mobile phones, customers are immediately connected to a live chat operator who can speak on behalf of the agent, for example taking messages or appointment requests to pass on.

The scheme has been devised to address the problem where offices might be closed, whether outside opening hours or because of coronavirus.

Yomdel founder Andy Soloman said: “The awful situation with coronavirus is hitting all agents right now, and estate agents are really suffering as they rely on human contact.

“If they have to close their offices due to sickness, a passing customer will still be able to make an enquiry.”

He added: “Now is not the time for ambulance chasing, selling more services, or beating the competition. The sector needs to work together to look after each other and its customers.”

He said Yomdel supports around 4,000 agents and so far the cards have been distributed to about half. There is no extra charge for the new functionality, which Soloman describes as a first.

He said:  “It really is all about helping customers quickly and easily contact the agent without delay, no matter how bad the coronavirus situation may become.”

Yes, this is free to people who use Yomdel. We are desperately trying to help as many agents as we can, and we also have a very affordable solution for those that do not currently work with us which would enable you to have the QR codes as well for free. We’re not supposed to market services here, but given the extraordinary circumstances hopefully Ros and Nick will allow me to leave my email address Andy.soloman@yomdel.com. Please feel free to get in touch.
