The number of residential property sales received for registration at the Land Registry ticked back up during March.

Price Paid Data from the Land Registry showed it received 83,473 sales for registration during March, up 5.3% on March.

It comes after the number of registrations fell 27% in February.

It can take between two weeks and two months for a sale to be registered by the Land Registry, but its latest data suggests of registrations received during March, 25,075 took place during the month.

Of these, 463 were of residential properties in England and Wales for £1m and over and 275 were for more than £1m in London.

There was one residential property sale in Birmingham for over £1m and four in Greater Manchester.

The most expensive residential sale during March was for a detached property in the Barnet, Greater London for £15m, while the cheapest was for £20,000 in Bishop Auckland, County Durham.
