Jason Robinson revealed as ambassador of new soon-to-launch portal

Rugby World Cup winner Jason Robinson has been appointed brand ambassador for wearethemarket.co.uk – a new regionally focused property portal.

The England Rugby and British & Irish Lions legend is working with the We Are The Market team on a range of both consumer and professional-facing initiatives as the property search portal gears up to formally launch in February.

Robinson said: “We Are The Market is leading the way in providing a more localised property search, somewhere that people can find the best property stock in their area first and gain a valuable insight into the local area. The team is building a portal that is all about the property, locality and the independent agents themselves – surely a winning combination? Property has been a passion of mine for years and I have a lot of respect for what the team is working so hard to accomplish.

“When I first talked to the founders of We Are The Market, I felt an affinity with what they were aiming to do. Now is the right time to focus on the needs of each local area, especially given the effect of COVID-19 on our communities, and deliver what buyers and renters need during their property journeys. I’m proud to be part of the team who has decided to tackle the status quo of property searching.”

We Are The Market is made up of a group of independent agents in the Midlands and has a regional focus but will eventually become national if both consumers and agents sign up to the benefits of the platform.

The soon-to-launch portal has so far gained the support of more than 50 independent offices in Coventry and Warwickshire accessing what they claim to be around 75% of the available stock in the region.

The group of agents decided to launch the new portal following the Say No To Rightmove campaign last year.

While they do not expect to overthrow the large property portals like Rightmove and Zoopla, they do hope to create an effective local alternative, according to Mike Cleary, co-founder of We Are The Market and director at Sheldon Bosley Knight.

Cleary commented: “We’re delighted to be welcoming Jason, a natural born winner, to our team as a brand ambassador. His passion for the property market, along with his sporting and community-inspired background make him a great addition to the team. His knowledge of what it takes to prevail in the most competitive of environments will be a constant inspiration for us along this journey.”

Mr Robinson was a bona fide sporting legend on the pitch but do we care if he’s interested in some property portal? And why not announce it when you launch rather than now? Seems odd.

    This makes me cry.

No, not that Jason Robinson is involved, but for the fact he only ever gets mentioned as a Union player when he cut his teeth and made his name in the other, far superior code.

He did not make his name in RL – most of the world had never even heard of him until he moved to RU.   Had he not moved to RU he would be pretty much unknown now.

RL has a tiny following – if it was so superior it would be massiveness supported

So bored of RL fans with chip on both shoulders constantly making infantile comment about Union

I watch and have played both codes but I note that RU fans do not whine about RL all the time they accept some people prefer it and have no issue with that and wish them well.

Personally there are many sports I have no interest in – tennis for instance.  So when it is on I just do not watch on TV listen on the radio or read about it in the papers.  I ignore it.

I also do not bother to whine about it and make childish comments about a sport I am not interested in and or the people who follow it.

Suggest you get the huge chips off both the shoulders and grow up.  No one cares what you think of RU any more than they care what I think of tennis.

Wow. I don’t think you’re anyone to suggest anyone has a chip on their shoulder after THAT rant.
