Is there a bit of a thing going on between Zoopla and housing ministers?

You might be forgiven for thinking there is a bit of a thing going on between certain politicians and Zoopla.

Yesterday afternoon Christopher Pincher, Member of Parliament for Tamworth, and Minister of State for Housing at MHCLG posted this tweet, directly linking to the Zoopla press release that EYE covered yesterday.

This comes a month after Secretary of State for Housing, Robert Jenrick, took the extremely unusual course of speaking directly to the property industry via a 450 word column published first by Zoopla.

Housing ministers usually communciate with us via headline speeches at major conferences, not by using a property portal.

If anyone sees Zoopla out for lunch, canoodling in the park, or walking hand in hand with housing ministers or their ilk, do take a snap and send it in to EYE…

Surely that’s down to the historic  20+year connection with Hometrack providing housing data and analysis. The civil service engine that powers red-blue government have been using Hometrack for as long as I can remember.

Housing ministers know that it is only a short term gig………..Poor Mr Pincher is just trying to sort out a comfortable little Non-Exec position for when he gets the boot?
