Independent agents merge to form new regional group

(L-R) Mannleys co-directors Chris Mann and Aaron Manley with Samuel Wood co-directors Andrew Cadwallader and Russell Griffin

Two independent estate agencies in Shropshire have merged to form a new regional property business, with plans for expansion and further acquisitions.

Mannleys and Samuel Wood have joined forces to create Mannleys Group, bringing together their combined operations across Shrewsbury, Telford, Ludlow and surrounding areas.

The firms said the merger is aimed at strengthening their presence across the county while maintaining their existing brands, rather than consolidating operations. Both businesses expect to recruit as the combined group grows.

The new leadership team will include Samuel Wood co-directors Russell Griffin and Andrew Cadwallader, alongside Mannleys co-directors Aaron Manley and Chris Mann.

The combined business will operate across a wider footprint covering Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin, and gateway markets into the wider Midlands, with four offices and additional hubs. Directors said the merger would increase buyer and tenant reach, expand lettings and property management services, and support greater investment in marketing and technology.

Branding will evolve to reflect the merger while retaining local identities. In Telford the business will trade as Mannleys, in Shrewsbury as Mannleys with Samuel Wood, and in Ludlow and South Shropshire as Samuel Wood with Mannleys.

Chris Mann said: “This is an exciting opportunity for Mannleys to join forces with Samuel Wood. Both independent and respected businesses share similar values and a strong commitment to service, and by working together we can create a more proactive and ambitious company for sellers, landlords and tenants across Shropshire and the wider region.

“By combining our teams and experience, we are building a business with genuine momentum and clear ambitions for further growth.”

Andrew Cadwallader said: “This merger will create a progressive, forward-thinking property business built for the future. By combining our strengths, we are creating a more dynamic and capable company, with improved coverage and greater resources to support our clients.

“We are particularly excited about the opportunities this creates for growth across the region and the ability to continue building a modern, forward-thinking agency that remains firmly focused on service and results.”

Cadwallader added: “We also see this as a platform for future acquisitions and continued growth across Shropshire and neighbouring areas. The group will be better positioned to showcase Shropshire homes to a broader audience and support sellers and landlords with an enhanced service.”
