How safe do you feel being back to work?

The government has now published a document on Coronavirus safety in the workplace.

We are hearing of estate agency firms that are taking staff off furlough and bringing at least some of their teams back in to work. Some have been operating skeleton staff throughout the crisis.

The safety arrangements in some cases appear questionable.

While offices remain closed to the public there are still many issues to be addressed in connection with maintaining a safe environment for staff members.

Has a risk assessment been carried out and published for staff to read?

What distancing arrangements are in place?

Has guidance been issued by the firm about procedures for use of kitchen facilities?

Is there a requirement for face masks to be worn – and are they being provided for staff use?

We want to hear from staff who are back in their estate agency offices about how your safety is being treated by your employer.

Let us know if you think everything is fine or if you feel that the safety of you or your colleagues is being compromised in any way.

All information will be treated in strict confidence. news@propertyindustryeye.com

We have all been working from home and I have been doing video viewings, physical viewings and we have let many properties and agreed sales as well.

I have a face mask, latex gloves and hand sanitiser at all times. We seriously enforce social distancing and wipe down door handles etc after every viewing.

I see no problem with socially responsible agents carrying out their day-to-day activities providing the public understand the rules. On one or two occasions we have had to cancel viewings abruptly because the viewer didn’t abide by social distancing.

    People still need to move!!!

I would love you to share with us all where you read that carrying out viewings is deemed as essential?

Is it ok for people to now travel to viewings? Travelling from different counties to view a property? Again please share this with us.

I think it is fair to say we would all love to start working but I believe everyone else is waiting for the government to confirm this can take place and are trying to keep people safe. The issue is people going against these guidelines is why the rest of us have to work from home for longer!

I ask again please share with us where the rules says this work can take place. It seems you know something NO-ONE else does!
