Homebuying platform aims to cut transaction times by 50%

OneDome is calling on estate agents to support its campaign to cut property transaction times by up to 50%.

The homebuying platform recently launched the #JoinOurChallenge campaign, with a view to reducing transaction times to as low as 10 weeks by speeding up the mortgage process.

We all know that speed is often ranked as the main problem in completing property transactions, and so the campaign, which is sure to appeal to buyers and sellers, as well as agents, conveyancing solicitors, mortgage lenders and surveyors, is also clear attempt by OneDome to generate positive press coverage ahead of a new soon-to-launch HomeBuying Platform product.

OneDome says that various features of the platform will be revealed to the market prior to its full launch. It claims that it will help speed up the mortgage journey for homebuyers and agents.

OneDome says that the new HomeBuying Platform will allow buyers to get an instant Mortgage in Principle from one of 65 lending banks, to which the platform is directly connected.

The homebuyers will also be able to fill in a digital fact find form, and book an appointment with a mortgage adviser vetted by the agent. The whole process can be completed in under 12 minutes, according to the firm’s external PR team.

The platform will, we are told, also facilitate a digital onboarding process for clients, signing of digital contracts and forms. The mortgage transaction will be able to be completed by uploading relevant files to the platform and automating task management and coordination between parties. The data will be shared between various parties who need access to the information.

OneDome CEO said: ‘Staggering sums of money are lost each year due to various inefficiencies in the homebuying process. This has to change, and technology will help to reduce those inefficiencies. That’s why we’ve launched the #JoinOurChallenge campaign.

“All of us at OneDome are laser-focused on this mission: to halve transaction times. We’re really excited by the support we have already seen from similarly-minded estate agents.”
