Founder of self-service online agent wins Entrepreneur of Year

Fareed Nabir, director of online letting business Let Britain, has been named as the first ever Entrepreneur of the Year at the British Bangladeshi Business Awards.

The ceremony in Birmingham was attended by David Cameron.

Nabir was honoured for his part in founding London restaurant, Laksha Bay, as well as the virtual letting business.

Nabir said: “I’m thrilled to be the first recipient of this incredible honour. Being an entrepreneur is not something you learn, it’s something you naturally are – and it’s a very difficult job at times.

“Balancing multiple businesses and keeping your finger on the pulse of the current business trends is tough. But with Let Britain I feel I have created a service that is revolutionary in its market, putting the power back into the hands of the people using the service.”

On its site, which displays the Zoopla logo, Let Britain says: “We’re letting old-fashioned estate agents to become a thing of the past – and we’re confining their extortionate agency fees to history too. Our self-service lettings agency is the future of rental.”
