Fast-growing estate agency completes yet another acquisition

Lomond has further strengthened its presence in Chester by securing another acquisition.

Denton Clark Rentals, founded in 1975, has been acquired, for an undisclosed sum, by the fast-growing estate agency group.

Denton Clark Rentals, which aside from lettings, also offers sales and property management services, transfer to Matthews of Chester (MOC)’s neighbouring office.

Lomond, which has purchased more than 50 companies across the UK since forming in 2020, now has key locations such as Scotland, Yorkshire, Manchester, Birmingham, Exeter, and the South Coast. The purchase of Denton Clark is the firm’s 17th acquisition in the North West region in less than three years.

Jason Watkin, chief executive of Lomond, said: “With a thriving rental and sales market, it [the North West] is one of a number of areas where we will be targeting more acquisition activity in 2024.”

Jennifer Morris, who spearheaded the management of all landlords’ investments at Denton Clark, has joined the Matthews of Chester team and will continue in this role to ensure optimum continuity of service.

Lomond CEO, Ed Phillips, commented: “The North West of England has been one of the heartlands at the forefront of our growth journey, with a portfolio that has tripled in size since Lomond launched less than three years ago.

“As we look to inject further pace and scale into our acquisition ambitions for 2024, our team in the North West continues to actively explore more opportunities for us to consolidate our presence in key locations – Chester being a prime example.”
