Chan Khangura of Whitegates has completed the acquisition of letting agency Let Two.
The Huddersfield-based franchisee says that he and his father, who he co-owns Whitegates in Huddersfield, Brighouse and Holmfirth with, fought off tough competition to complete the purchase of the specialist lettings agency.
Khangura has acquired Let Two from director Dawn Hunt, who has more than 30 years’ experience in the property industry.
Khangura’s Whitegates business now has more than 1,200 managed properties in his portfolio.
In recent years Chan has also bought long-established Huddersfield agency Whitworths along with Linden Lettings and Easy Lettings Northwest.
Chan told EYE: “Myself and my father are delighted to acquire such a reputable company. Ourselves and our team work tirelessly to ensure all landlords are given a proper and personal service.
“To have 1,200 managed properties from starting with just over 200 some 10 years ago shows our ambition.”
Letting agents are either tough as nails or naive.
How can you enjoy all that hassle ?

I think it depends on where in the country you are. I am in a relatively affluent area with higher rents, our management stock is enough to ensure that if the sales market faulters we are still ok as a business.
