Ex-estate agent launches new conveyancing service designed for agents

Former estate agent Tim Price has launched a new conveyancing service for estate agents.

Price, whose career includes stints at Parkers, Legal & General and the Live Organisation, says Property Butler will provide a tailored proposition to estate agents.

He says it will be of particular help to those wishing to ensure their clients are properly represented by conveyancers right from the beginning of the house purchase process, so that transactions are protected as far as possible from falling through.

Property Butler is the new sister company of online conveyancing portal SortRefer, a dominant player in the mortgage intermediary market, and is powered by the same technology.

It offers agencies a white labelled online portal, meaning that agents can produce accurate quotes, instruct online and then be able to access progress reports 24/7 via their desktop, smartphone or tablet.

It will also be offering free insurance cover of disbursement fees up to £1,500; and a ‘concierge service’, allowing agents to pass referrals and let the Property Butler team convert the opportunities.

Price said: “Conveyancing is one of the key areas of any property transaction, but is traditionally slow with poor communication to estate agents and their customers.

“This can and does lead to operational frustrations and poor sales pipeline control for the property professional, which is why we believe our proposition will appeal strongly to estate agents.

“Our proposition puts the estate agent in the driving seat by offering competitive conveyancing services early in the purchase process, which will go a long way to improving pipeline control and communication with the client.”

I don’t profess to understand the ins and outs of Property Butler and stand to be corrected, but it looks like another service that takes part of the conveyancer’s fee, thereby reducing their income, meaning they need to increase their workload which ultimately affects their efficiency?

Couldn’t find anything about conveyancing prominently displayed on the property butler site, instead I found another Property Butler company operating from the USA.
