Estate agents shutting up shop on Britain’s high streets

There were 143 closures of estate agency branches in the first half of this year, says a new study of Britain’s high streets by PwC and the Local Data Company.

However 43 new branches opened, leaving a net balance of 100 losses.

The study looked at only 500 high streets.

Fashion shops accounted for the most closures, followed by restaurants, estate agents and pubs.
