Estate agents come fourth from bottom in ‘trustworthiness’ poll

It will probably not come as any great surprise for anyone working in the industry, but estate agents have yet again come close to the bottom of a table of trusted professions.

Estate agents came fourth from bottom in the annual joint report by Mumsnet and Ipsos MORI, with government ministers, politicians generally and (oh dear) journalists occupying the three slots below them.

Trust in politicians is approaching rock bottom with just 15% of the country believing that they speak the truth.

Some 30% of the population say they would be willing to put their faith in their estate agent. The good news is that trust in estate agents has actually risen by 5% over the last 12 months.

The bruising EU referendum campaign is being largely blamed for the alarming drop in trust in our political leaders.

Journalists came third from bottom in the poll with only 24% trusting, well, people like me.

Nurses and doctors were found to be the most trustworthy professionals in the annual “veracity” survey. Nurses were trusted to tell the truth by 93% of people while doctors are trusted by 91% of the population, according to the poll of 1,019 adults.

Astoundingly, given how many wrong calls they have made lately – Brexit and the US presidential election spring to mind – pollsters do relatively well.

However, if pollsters hadn’t done well, would anyone have believed this particular one?

Bankers are two places above us!!!! Look at what has happened to the country since 2008 and we are still not out of the aftermath some 8 years later.

How did we ever achieve this miserable reputation? What’s more isn’t it time we started to do something about it?

I suspect anyone below Police are probably relatively in the same boat.

After all everyone below the “blue line” routinely offer opinions as part of their daily task. And of course

Most of these opinions are largely either ignored or ridiculed.
