Estate agent to host charity art auction

John Bray & Partners is marking its 50th birthday by organising a charity art auction jointly in aid of the Cornwall Community Foundation (CCF) and the Wadebridge Foodbank.

With the support of North Cornwall artists, photographers and illustrators, the auction will raise much needed funds for these two local charities that are close to the agency’s heart.

Twenty-seven works of art, all portraying aspects of North Cornwall scenery and life, have been donated by 24 artists with reserve prices ranging from £75 to £750. The showcase of talent is wonderful with a huge variety of artwork from digital, oil, watercolour and photographic, and there are originals and limited editions. Interested buyers can register in advance online by clicking here.

The auction goes live on 1st August and ends on 18th August at 9pm.

All the artworks can be viewed at John Bray’s offices in Rock from July 2021.

At the end of 2020, a very difficult year for so many people, John Bray & Partners supported the Wadebridge Foodbank with a generous donation, helping local families struggling to make ends meet in the aftermath of the pandemic.

Jacqui White, of the Wadebridge Foodbank, which also covers Padstow, Bodmin, Camelford and surrounding areas, said: “We are expecting demand for our services to increase even further over the summer months, so the additional funds raised through this brilliant art auction will be used to supply food, hygiene and household goods to people in need. We also work with our clients to offer signposting and support towards long term solutions for their current circumstances.”

The agency also previously helped to establish a North Cornwall fund via the Cornwall Community Foundation (CCF) and Josephine Ashby, John Bray’s managing partner, sits on the grants panel that regularly provides grants for local groups and organisations ranging from the St Minver Brownies to the Port Isaac Village Hall, Mental Health charities, youth projects and care homes among others.

Jane Hartley DL, CCF chairman, commented: “This continues to be an incredibly challenging time for many people. We are moved by the generosity of people who want to support Cornish communities who donate so we can help amazing local charities like Wadebridge Foodbank.

“Sadly, the need for our support continues to grow and we are very grateful to John Bray & Partners and the artists who are making this auction possible. Please bid enthusiastically, every pound raised is needed.”
