An estate agent has issued an apology after a for sale sign written in English angered Welsh language campaigners.
North Wales eXp agent Gavin Morgan placed the English-only signboard on Beaumaris Road in Glyn Garth, sparking anger among some of those demanding equal status for the Welsh language.
The Welsh campaigning group placed a sticker over one of Morgan’s signs stating, “ble mae’r Gymraeg?” which translates as “where is the Welsh?”, a slogan used by the Cymdeithas yr Iaith (Society of the language) group as part of its peaceful protest.
Images were taken of the signboard and shared on social media.
This is not the first time these stickers have appeared on estate agency boards, along with a wide range of other signs, including road signs and posters.
An apologetic Morgan said on social media: “Sorry guys my board is in Welsh and English, board company have erected the wrong board.”
Despite the apology, the signboard currently remains unchanged.
For the year ending 30 June 2021, the APS reported that 29.2% of people aged three or older were able to speak Welsh… so 70.8% of the population cant speak Welsh in Wales.
However 99% of the Welsh population speak English… forgive if I am somewhat insensitive however I don’t really see the problem with a sign that is written in English as it caters to 99% of the population (as opposed to 29%).

It gets worse, Wales is the largest contributor to pollution and waste recycling. Everything is sent in duplicate (dual language) meaning 50% is a waste of resources, energy costs, time, finance and CO2 contributor.
