Estate agency to donate percentage of profits to cancer charity

Lanarkshire based Hemmings Homes has announced plans to donate a percentage of its profits to Beatson Cancer Charity throughout the year.

The company, which has offices in both Cambuslang and Motherwell, wants the cancer charity to benefit from the buoyant housing market.

A spokeswoman for the firm told Lanarkshire Live:

“Due to the property market booming at the moment, we have decided to give something back.

“The idea came around at a team meeting, all seven staff from our Cambuslang and Motherwell offices were in straight agreement. We plan to raise £22,000 for 2022 for the charity.

“We plan to give a certain amount of our fee from every sale that completes this year as well as planning to do other events and challenges. We’re looking into doing one of the kilt walks in the summer as well as a team hike to Tinto.

“We’ve also booked a charity ball for October and hope to raise as many funds as we can by doing raffles and auctions.”

The charity auction has been planned for Friday 7th October and the office is currently selling tickets to individuals as well as companies, who are also able to buy tables at the ball.

“This is the very first year that we have done it and we hope that we can hit our target. We’ve been talking about setting up a Go Fund Me page as well, ” said Hemmings’ spokeswoman.

Beatson Cancer Charity is delighted by the support:

“This is an incredible contribution, which will help us to support cancer patients and their families throughout their cancer journey.

“Not only is the business supporting us through house sales, but also by holding several fundraising activities too. We cannot thank them enough.”
