Estate agency makes The Sunday Times 100 list for rapid growth

Andy Vass

The Estate agency network The Agency UK (TAUK) has been named in this year’s The Sunday Times 100, becoming the only estate agency business featured in the annual ranking of Britain’s fastest-growing private companies.

Founded in December 2020 by Steph Walker, Andrew Vass and Mark Bruce, the company recorded annual sales growth of 67% over a three-year period, with turnover exceeding £7.6m, according to the published rankings.

TAUK, which ranks 74th on The Sunday Times 100, operates a self-employed agent model and has expanded its network across the UK since launch. The business is led by a management team that includes former Rightmove executive Harry Hill and Purplebricks co-founder Kenny Bruce.

The Sunday Times 100 ranks independent UK businesses based on sustained sales growth over three years, with companies required to be profitable and generate annual revenues of more than £5m.

Andy Vass, co-founder, said: “The list measures growth and we’re proud of the number. But we never chased it for its own sake. We backed good agents to run their own businesses properly, and the growth came as a result. Five years in, that tells us the model holds up.”

Kenny Bruce, executive director, added: “Estate agencies rarely make The Sunday Times 100 because traditional branch models aren’t built for rapid growth. We’ve shown that when great agents are empowered to run their own businesses with the right support, exceptional growth follows.

“To be recognised among Britain’s fastest-growing private companies just five years after launch is a testament to our founders, our agents, our team and the strength of the TAUK model.”
