Daniel Daggers, star of Netflix’s UK Selling Sunset-style show, slams estate agents in trailer

Netflix has released a trailer for ‘Buying London’, a UK spin on the hit US show, Selling Sunset, which will premier in May.

The London-based show, follows agent Daniel Daggers, who started his own luxury estate agency after resigning from Knight Frank in 2020 following complaints that an Instagram he post had compromised a client’s privacy.

Daggers, who refers to himself as ‘Mr Super Prime’, insists that he is set to “revolutionise the industry” in this country with his approach to estate agency.

The longstanding agent, who started working in west London 25 years ago, primarily covering the Maida Vale area, offers an overview of his personal background and present goals for his company, DDRE Global, in a new two-minute teaser.

“I’ve sold over £5bn worth of property to the rich and famous,” Daggers said in the video, which offers glances of expensive properties, massive pools and luxury cars. “Some people might describe me as the best agent that has ever lived, some people. My mum.”

“For decades, the luxury property market has been dominated by large companies, who are stuck in their ways,” Daggers added in the clip. “The big organisations tend to employ the cliché real estate agent. Old school money, went to the right universities, they look the same, act the same. There’s a few of them wearing jumpers around their shoulders.”

In the new TV show, Daggers and his team “set out to conquer the super prime high-end real estate market from the prestigious streets of Mayfair to the exclusive enclaves of Holland Park” and follows them “as they navigate the intricacies of their personal lives as well as striving to make their mark in the glamorous world of luxury real estate”.

So Netflix have basically chosen an agent that fits every single stereotypical image people have of EAs, despite most not being like this at all.

What a hero – sounds like the saviour of the universe. Assuming this wannabe with a few years & sales under his belt is told every morning by his mirror that he is the fairest of them all.

Still time for him to grow up and ego deflate.

Wow what a hero- with a few sales & years under his belt no doubt able to put the world & its sister in law to rights as well as our humble profession.

I’m sure each morning when he might look in the mirror “you are the fairest of them all.

    A sado.

For goodness sake people, get a grip! This is a Netflix documentary. he’s hardly going to sit there and say, “My name’s Daniel Daggers and I think I’m quite a good estate agent but actually nothing very special”. He also had the grace to say that it’s just his ‘mum’ that says he’s the best agent.

He’s been working at the top end of the industry for many years working for the man and now he’s out there doing it his way and giving the corporates a kicking in the process. You might take a glance at his website and wonder if you could get those kind of listings under your name.

But fair play to you all, how dare he be a success story and shout so loudly about it – this is (little) England after all

Fantastic and well done to DDRE. I’m sure it will make great viewing and I’ll be tuning in to watch.

N.B. I’m not his Dad (or Mum for that matter), but admire what he and his team have acheived in a relatively short period of time.
