Countrywide’s surveyors launch new property condition report for buyers

Countrywide’s surveying arm has launched a new property condition report, called HomeFact.

It is an interactive report that includes information about both the property and surrounding area, that can be read on a mobile phone or tablet.

HomeFact tells buyers what they need to know about a property’s interior and exterior construction as well as its garden and grounds.

Defects that may require work are identified via a system of coloured symbols, accompanied by written advice and pictures.

There is also information about the availability and speed of broadband, plus local crime rates, restaurants, medical and sporting facilities, shops and schools.

Is this a full structural survey and flagging up all the defects and potential areas of concern?

Sounds good, but what’s a rough guide price?  Presumably still linked to size and scale of house.  Will they do it for cladding on a block of flats when it’s an apartment?

So a homebuyers report? With a bit of streetcheck thrown in for good measure? Groundbreaking.
