Richard Twigg leaves Connells after 30 years

Richard Twigg has left Connells after 30 years with the estate agency group.

Twigg, who most recently served as group finance and commercial director, departed the business without a formal announcement from the company.

He was appointed interim chief executive for 12 months in 2023 following the departure of long-serving boss David Livesey, before Helen Charlesworth took over the role permanently.

The reason for Twigg’s departure has not been disclosed. His LinkedIn profile still lists him as group finance and commercial director.

Connells reported strong financial results earlier this year, with group revenue rising 9% to £1.16bn in 2025, while profit before tax increased 19% to £73.1m.

The Hill Group appoints new head of affordable housing

The Hill Group has appointed Claire Studdart as its new head of affordable housing.

The newly created role will see Studdart lead the company’s affordable housing strategy, oversee partnerships with registered providers and support the delivery of affordable homes through Section 106 agreements.

Studdart joins from Cala Group, where she managed affordable housing transactions across multiple regions. During her time there, she was involved in the sale of affordable homes on more than 80 developments.

She previously worked in housing roles within local authorities, including supporting individuals and families experiencing homelessness, before moving into the private sector.

Knight Frank announces 129 promotions

Knight Frank has announced 129 promotions across the UK business with immediate effect. The promotions include 18 to partner and 44 to associate, demonstrating the partnership’s commitment to developing its people and providing opportunities for progression.
