New estate agency director promoted at Spicerhaart

Lauren Allen

Spicerhaart has promoted homegrown talent with the appointment of Lauren Allen as new estate agency director, covering their West region.

Having joined haart as a property marketing consultant in 2019, Allen was promoted to branch manager, senior branch manager, branch partner and is now in charge of eight offices from Plymouth to Guildford.

The mum-of-two has achieved her last two promotions after returning from maternity leave and said she was proud of her own career trajectory and to work for a progressive company.

Allen said: “In previous jobs, I’ve felt like it was difficult to develop my career, that it would have been difficult for me to become a Branch Manager and that estate agency was a man’s world.

“I am living proof Spicerhaart is not like that, as I got this job whilst still on maternity leave.

“I applied as I want to support likeminded people and push them to reach their own goals.

“I want everyone based in these eight offices to love coming to work and deliver world class customer service.”

MD Daniel Ansell commented: “I am always really proud when we make an internal appointment to one of our senior roles.

“Lauren has been a huge success in each of her posts at Spicerhaart, and I am sure she will make an excellent Estate Agency Director.”

George Nares joins Blue Book Agency

George Nares

George Nares, former head of Savills country houses, is now a co-founder of Blue Book Agency, which launched earlier this year, alongside Lindsay Cuthill and Sebastian Hipwood.

Cuthill  launched the estate agency earlier this year. He was joined by former head of office at Savills Cirencester, Hipwood, who has worked in the estate agency sector for more than 15 years, in June this year.

Hipwood said: “Blue Book aims to transform the sales process, ensuring a deeply personalised experience for clients as we guide them through the sale of their beautiful family homes.”

Cuthill says Blue Book Agency caters to best-in-class properties “regardless of price or location”.

Agency support business sold to fast-expanding business

Nigel Barnett

Telecom Acquisitions, the holding company for the Home Telecom brand, has completed its sixth acquisition in as many weeks in the form of Homeshift, a company that has supported the letting industry for many years.

Homeshift took the strategic decision to sell the assets of the base to enable the company to continue with its software development plan, the recent introduction of ‘Stop Sell’ a driver limiting the further growth of this base.

Nigel Barnett commented: “Working with Kenny Alegbe from Homeshift over the last few months has been a real pleasure, and at Home Telecom we are delighted to be the choice to deliver great customer service to Homeshift’s customers. Providing a seamless transition from one company to another.’
