Fine & Country appoints first licensee in Scotland

Fine & Country, has tapped into previous uncharted waters by signing up to a new licence in Scotland.

Stuart Thomson, Director of Fine & Country South Scotland, says: “We are very excited to be joining the Fine & Country network and look forward to the opportunities that it presents for us in the prime property market in our area. As the first licensee in Scotland, we are proud to be establishing Fine & Country in this area and to be representing an international premium brand in our expanding and ever-popular local market.”

Louisa McElroy, Managing Land Agent and Valuer at Fine & Country South Scotland added: “Our ‘patch’ is an extensive section of the South of Scotland covering all of Dumfries and Galloway, much of the Scottish Borders including Galashiels, Peebles, Kelso, Melrose, Hawick and Selkirk, as well as a little of South Lanarkshire including the lovely market town of Biggar. Our reach extends from Gretna Green in the South to Peebles in the North and from Coldstream in the East to Portpatrick on the very western shore of the Rhins of Galloway; this is approximately 170 miles east to west, which equates to a fairly substantial four-hours’ drive time, which will keep us busy.”

Our goal is to continue to expand the brand’s reach and the opportunities that it presents for global referrals within our growing international network.”

Expansion for Stonehouse Lettings

Andrew Seldon

Stonehouse Lettings has bought the portfolio of rental homes formerly managed by Burnett & Reid, the 267-year-old Aberdeen city centre law firm and land management business.

The deal sees approaching 200 homes transfer between Stonehouse’s central Aberdeen branch based in Carden Place, and its office at Kemnay.

This injection of additional properties from Burnett & Reid – thought to be the oldest legal practice in the city, and one of the longest-established in the UK – propels its total managed property portfolio throughout Aberdeen and neighbouring districts to approximately 1700.

Lettings staff from Burnett & Reid – spearheaded by leasing manager Nicky Webster – will also join the Stonehouse team to ensure a smooth transition for both landlords and clients.

CEO of Stonehouse, Andrew Seldon, said: “We are thrilled to consolidate our market-leading position in our home city with such a bullseye acquisition.

“This deal does not just mark the next chapter in what is very much a home-grown Aberdeen success story.

“Our investment also signals a real vote of confidence in Aberdeen and its neighbouring communities, underlining its appeal as a much sought-after place to live, work and study.”
