JLL appoints new director

JLL has appointed a new director to head up its Scottish lease advisory team.

Andrew Cartmail

Andrew Cartmail takes over from Sandy Gray who retires in March after more than 30 years with the company.

Cartmail has spent 24 years in the Scottish property market specialising in lease renewals, rent reviews, and restructures.

He joins JLL from Cartmail Property Consultants which he has run since founding it in 2017.

In recent years he has restructured leases on more than 1.25 million sq ft of accommodation, securing over £17.5m of rental concessions for his occupier clients.

Prior to founding Cartmail Property Consultants, Cartmail was a senior director at BNP Paribas Real Estate where he spent 19 years, seven of which were as head of its Edinburgh office.

JLL Scotland head Alasdair Humphery said: “Andy will fit in well and will be a superb addition to our business in Scotland and across the UK.

“It’s absolutely great to be able to attract such a high-calibre specialist and I’m sure his contribution will be immediate.”

 

SLC Property expands northern team with two new appointments

SLC Property has grown its northern team with two new appointments.

As part of its expansion plans, SLC Property has appointed Peter Eustance as property and development surveyor and Chris Moore as graduate surveyor.

Eustance is a registered valuer with 30 years’ experience valuing across different property sectors and Moore is a graduate looking to develop his experience in surveying.

Russell Mills, senior property manager North of SLC Property, said: “This is an exciting time for us as we are already experiencing a jump in new opportunities with our clients. We expect to see this continue to grow because of the various initiatives through the Northern Powerhouse Rail and Restoring Your Railways Fund to transform the north’s infrastructure.”

 

Peveril Homes appoints MD

Peveril Homes has appointed a new managing director.

James Smith

James Smith, who has developed his career at the housebuilder for 23 years, and most recently promoted from land director, says his immediate priority is targeting the acquisition of new land across the Midlands.

He said: “I will ensure we continue to create beautiful quality homes for residents to build a life in. I am extremely excited to be taking the business forward for the foreseeable future.
