It is business as usual as Chestertons, despite the recent resignation of the firm’s chief executive Guy Gittins, who left last month to join rival firm Foxtons.

Chestertons has appointed Richard Davies, its long-serving head of lettings, as interim managing director following the resignation of Gittins, who had been chief executive of the London based agency since 2018, having joined as sales director in 2012.

Having been at the company since 1996, Davies is one of Chestertons’ longest-serving members of staff. He started at the company first as a letting negotiator then as a branch manager, before becoming head of lettings in 2005. He has sat on the board as a director for over ten years and has been instrumental in the company’s steady growth.

Davies has confirmed that he will continue to implement Chestertons’ five-year strategy that was set into motion last year and includes further acquisitions, additional investments in prop tech and continued growth in all areas of the business.

Davies is supported by an experienced board of directors, including ex-CEO Allan Collins, and a well-established senior leadership team.

Davies said: “Chestertons has grown to become one of London’s leading sales & lettings agents, employing some of the best people in the business and I am incredibly proud to be leading the business into its next chapter.

“We are now looking forward to a busy summer in terms of both the sales and lettings market, but also our annual staff and client events including: Chestertons Polo in the Park, our Summer Party at the Hurlingham Club and our Annual Reception at the Royal Academy of Arts.”
