Carter Jonas has been on a new buying spree, snapping up Cambridge property companies.
The firm is acquiring the New Square Holdings Group which consists of estate and letting agents Bradshaws and commercial firm Januarys. The price has not been disclosed.
The acquisition will be effective from January 30, and will increase the Carter Jonas team in Cambridge to 80.
Over the coming months, the various business streams of the two firms will combine to produce a multi-disciplinary property consultancy, covering the eastern region with offices in Cambridge, Bury St Edmunds, Peterborough, Long Melford and Northampton.
Mark Granger, chief executive of Carter Jonas, said: “The acquisition is very much in line with our national strategy, which includes the further strengthening of our principal hub offices.
“Cambridge holds a significant place in the firm’s heritage, being the location of our first office 160 years ago.”
This latest deal follows a series of recent acquisitions by Carter Jonas including Sullivan Thomas, a residential business in London; Boileaus, also in west London; commercial firm Whittingham Prosser; and planning consultancy Planning Perspectives.
