Bequest of two Cornish homes will benefit Macmillan Cancer Support

Kivells are marketing two clifftop properties in Porthcurno, West Cornwall, with all proceeds going to cancer charity Macmillan Cancer Support.

Overlooking Porthcurno Bay, and a short walk to the beach, the four and three bedroom houses have guide prices of £300,000 and £250,000 and will be sold by auction at the nearby, world-famous, Minack Theatre on Sunday 23rd August.

The properties were bequeathed to Macmillan Cancer Support by a donor, who wished to remain anonymous, as a gift in their will.

James Stebbings, Macmillan’s Head of Legacy Income, said:

“The properties are an incredibly generous gift and we are so grateful.

“Macmillan relies almost entirely on public donations to provide our vital support to people with cancer, but we are facing a huge drop in income as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

Kivells Director, Kevin Hicks, said:

“It is humbling to consider all the monies achieved for the properties will go towards supporting and helping people to live with cancer.

“Perched on a granite cliff with the backdrop of unending sea, the Minack has a palpable and exhilarating feeling of being at the edge of the world and at the mercy of the elements.

“Whether we are blessed with sunshine, refreshed by rain, braced by wind or even a mixture of all three it will be a very special place of which to say – ‘that is where we bought our home.’ ”
