Another minister leaves housing brief

Marcus Jones

Housing minister Marcus Jones has left his position.

Jones was appointed Minister of State at the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities on 7 July, as part of Boris Johnson’s chaotic reshuffle. But he was left out of the new Liz Truss ministerial team.

Jones tweeted a few moments ago: “Sad to leave the Government after serving under three PMs during two spells covering five and 1/2 years.

“I will fully support our new PM and Government from the back benches, but will be vocal in taking up the issues that matter to my constituents in Nuneaton, Arley and Hartshill.”

His departure follows Eddie Hughes’ resignation from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities this morning.

Blimay,  that music was in my head as well.  Perhaps it could be the theme tune for housing ministers?  Perhaps at their appointment so they don’t get too comfortable.
