Agent’s ‘manifesto’ calls for a bedroom tax to be paid by private home owners

Property search agent Stacks has called for a ‘bedroom tax’ for the private sector.

Any home owner with more than three bedrooms would have to pay a tax on those which were unoccupied.

Stacks said that the tax should be payable where bedrooms in larger homes are not used by a family member or paying tenant.

Stacks is also calling for the introduction of a vacant property tax, payable by all owners whose property is empty for over six months of the year.

The business would also like to see Capital Gains Tax scrapped for private landlords who sell to first-time buyers; and wants to see qualifications and licensing introduced for all property agents.

Stacks is headed by James Greenwood, who has previously stood for Parliament as a Green candidate.

He is not a candidate in next month’s election – although this has not stood in the way of releasing a ‘manifesto’.

Neither the Tories nor Labour have yet published their manifestos – preferring instead to drip-feed policy announcements as they go along.

I’ll tell my extended family to book a hotel when they come to visit.  Distancing my children from their aunts, uncles, cousins & grandparents can only be a great thing.  Meanwhile, I get cash income from the stranger who lives in my loft rather than paying bedroom tax.  Genius.  Quick question, James… as my garden is over 30′ long, do I have to open it up to campers and caravaners who are visiting their relatives locally?  At no charge, obviously.  I kinda regret working hard to pay for all this ‘excess’ now.

Perhaps James Greenwood should mind his own business and keep his sticky beak out of others. Typical politician type telling everyone else what they should or should not do. This is why politicians are so hated. The world wars were fought for freedom not for upstarts dictating how many bedrooms you are allowed to own.

What on earth is a Green Party member and with views like this doing as a property search agent?  What does he say to his clients who are looking to buy a holiday second home in Cornwall?!

So  I’ll join APE in getting the relatives, step children, step grandchildren and my parents, in laws etc hotel rooms instead of staying with me when they come from all four corners of the globe to visit?  Or is owning a four bed house with only two used full time going to be a “crime”!  It’s not like I’ve got an wmpty wing or converted outbuildings going spare.

I came to the conclusion a long time ago that ‘The Greens’ in this country don’t live in our world. No wonder they are  a minority and a speck on the political horizon, when people dream up these ideas. Just imagine what our country would be like if they were in control! Time our political system was reformed and could start with abolishing political parties and politicians that do not meet minimum requirements, just as they try and do impose on the citizens.

    Here’s Stacks facebook page https://www.facebook.com/StacksPropertySearchandAcquisition/

I suggest everyone posts on it, pointing out to customers that Stacks advocates taxing homeowners with spare rooms e.g. holiday homes.

Funnily enough I have been saying to my wife I would not be surprised if Corbyn or  his bleeding heart liberal politbureau didn’t suggest something like this. After all property is theft so why shouldn’t those of us who have worked so hard to better ourselves be penalised?

Ludicrous suggestion and deeply offensive. Why doesn’t the person/party suggesting this concentrate on something important, like getting the country out of the Brexit induced mess it currently resides in?

I wonder how much the Queen will have to pay on Buckingham Palace?  Or the National Trust on their empty Stately Homes?
