Agents donate record haul of foodbank items

Agents and industry suppliers have helped facilitate more than double the number of foodbank donations than last year for the sector’s annual day of giving.

Firms were encouraged to donate to their local foodbanks for Agents Giving Day on June 20, and they did so in their thousands.

The Agents Giving charity has reported that a haul of more than 18,000 items have been donated to foodbanks so far, up from 6,500 last year.

The majority of donations came from agencies within the Relocation Agent Network at 15,000, with others from firms including Eurolink, Northfields, David Lee, Loop Software, Frost Partnerships, Roberts Estate Agents, Margaret Whitton, R&B Leach, Kevin Scarff and Flatfair.

Richard Tucker, managing director of Relocation Agent Network, said: “We are thrilled to have donated more than 15,000 items of food and vital supplies to local foodbanks up and down the country. To have gone above and beyond our original target of 10,000 items is fantastic.

“An event like this really does demonstrate the power of our network and what can be achieved when our members work together.

“We know the donations will make a real difference to support people in crisis and I would like to thank all of our participating Relocation Agent Network members for really getting behind this initiative and helping us to make it such a success.”

Michael Stoop, chairman of Agents Giving, added: “We were thrilled with the number of agents collecting and donating food parcels for this Agents Giving Day,

“Thousands of food items were collected and donated. Thank you to all agents for their generosity – such an incredible job from all those involved.”

It’s not too late if you would like to collect and donate food items.
