Connells was reported to the Advertising Standards Authority over a rental property marketed with a headline price of £350 per month.
The complainant said that by stating variously that the rental price would return to £700 and £800, advertising a property with a headline price when that applied only for the first month was misleading.
Connells agreed to amend the advert and the case was closed informally.
A spokesperson for Connells told EYE yesterday that the property had been marketed as part of a limited pre-Christmas campaign “to make a select number of properties more attractive to prospective tenants in what can be a quiet time of year”.
In a separate case, another complaint was informally resolved.
Harris, Parkes and Drake, in Rowlands Castle, near Portsmouth, had used logos for the UK Association of Letting Agents (UKALA) and Ombudsman Services.
However, a complainant challenged whether it was a member of UKALA and that consumers could not seek redress from Ombudsman Services if they wished to complain about the company.
The firm agreed to remove the logos. It confirmed it was a member of TPO and would use that logo instead.
