An enterprising estate agent who came up with an OnTheMarket countdown clock on their website is encouraging other agents to use it – in return for a voluntary donation for charity.
Thomas Morris, which has seven branches in Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire, came up with the idea after other agents asked if they could use the countdown clock on their own sites, with one donating £50.
Thomas Morris partner Simon Bradbury said he was keen to promote OnTheMarket – and raise funds at the same time for his firm’s special charity, the emergency response team Magpas.
He said: “I’ve been really inspired with the sheer enthusiasm agents have shown for OnTheMarket and particularly impressed with the innovative marketing ideas that I’ve seen.
“We came up with the idea of a countdown clock and so many fellow agents commented on how good it looked we decided to share it in return for a voluntary donation of just £20 to our official charity.”
Magpas is a charity that does fantastic work. It supports the ambulance service by proving an air ambulance and a specialist medical team, and operates 24/7 throughout the east of England, relying on volunteers and fundraising.
The countdown clock – which is very prominent on Thomas Morris’s own website – is available in two sizes.
To download a copy involves a piece of code that can be embedded on to any website within the html code. This does require a very slight knowledge of how to put the code into the html, but as it’s a copy and paste job, we are assured it should be okay for most people.
In order to place the countdown timer on your website, all you need to do is copy the code below for the version you would like to show on your website. Then once this has been copied you can paste the code into the html code of the page where you want the countdown to appear.
For example, in a website run by WordPress you would go to the page or post where you want the countdown to appear and edit that page. Once you are editing the page press the ’text’ tab on the right hand side of the text editing window. This gives you the ‘code view’.
From here you can scroll to where you want the countdown timer to appear and then paste the whole line of code into place. Once you press ‘Update’ the countdown timer should now sit on your web page as expected. (Although we mention WordPress, we’re told these instructions should work for most sites where users have the ability to add html code into the page.)

It's of no use whatsoever hiding there behind the woodwork like some frenetic rodent, chewing away at goodness knows what, Mr Jury – every time you stick a whisker out to try to cause bother you simply tee yourself up nicely for any quarter-decent Estate Agent to knock you clean out of sight.

My guess is they'll want to peel back the onion, initiate a straw-poll; apply some blue sky thought to the roll-out process, and take a holistic approach to formulating a response which is both buzzword-compliant and total, utter b0110ck$.

Mr Jury doesn't like us quarter decent estate agents PeeBee, perhaps his snidy digs are the only way he can distance himself from his actual job description that he tries to hide from and has now fallen into that's right Mr Jury your supposedly an estate agent now..tough to swallow isn't it…so why not keep up the uncharitable digs to make yourself feel better.
