London estate agent Portico is giving one person the chance to sell their home for free.
To enter, sellers must score 80% or more in a property quiz and will then be entered into a prize draw to have their house sold for free as well as receiving a £100 John Lewis voucher.
Entries must be made before 9am on September 4.
There is a catch, though: the property must be within a three-mile radius of any of Portico’s 17 branches across the capital and the agent must be instructed under a sole contract by October 1. However, a winner can pass their prize to someone else who qualifies – in which case they merely pick up the £100 voucher.
Robert Nichols, managing director of Portico, said based on an estate agent fee of 1.5%, sellers could save £9,244 on costs. This is based on the Land Registry’s average house price in Greater London of £616,277.
Nichols said: “Everybody wants a quick and easy property sale. Unfortunately, in this market, the time is takes to sell a home can vary greatly depending on how you sell it and who you sell it with.
“We’re excited to be offering one lucky home owner the chance to sell for free.”
It sounds a clever idea to try and find out who is thinking of selling their property in the local area.
