Happy birthday to us! Eye is a year old today

A year ago, on March 19, 2014, we launched Property Industry Eye.

The positive reception that it received from readers and supporting clients was beyond anything we could have hoped for.

Its growth has been spectacular in terms of readership, page views, quantity of reader comments on news stories, and advertising build.

The bedrock of Eye has been, and will continue to be, the quality of its journalism and news reporting. Eye is genuinely and proudly independent of any and all of its advertising clients.

No one can buy our editorial and no one can influence what we report.

We are developing the content of Eye to make it a first-class information resource for our readers and we have been very fortunate in attracting high-quality contributors to our pages. We thank them for helping to make Eye so successful.

Twelve months on from launch, Eye has captured a substantial share of the market and has taken a leading position in bringing daily news to the residential property industry.

It will continue to grow during its second year and readers will see some exciting changes in the coming months – including changes in styling and design that will make our pages even more readable.

This week we were at the LSL Property Press Awards in London – the same event where we had been on the night before we launched Eye in 2014.

That evening a year ago, our editor Ros Renshaw received a ‘Lifetime Achievement’ award. This year Eye was in the shortlist of nominations for Property Trade Magazine of the Year. That’s quite an achievement for what is still a relative newcomer to the market!

We could not have built Eye without the support and encouragement of you, the readers, and we are truly grateful for your participation.

Please keep reading us and spread the word to your colleagues that Eye is the place to come for all the news that is news in the residential property industry.

I love you guys but your claiming independence whilst the OTM banner has been in situ for a year, your independently funding the site with ad money from OTM maybe ?? O

Actually ‘Happy Birthday’ on its own is not enough words to get past the anti spam filter. Besides  that  Happy birthday on its own isn’t enough;  Thank you  Ros, Thank you, Nick and Thank you John!

Danny the fact that you’re allowed to continually post comments like that one suggests to me that Eye is NOT biased.

I would much prefer a forum of debate with Property Professionals excluding the Duopoly Employees, Digital Marketing posters etc trying to protect their jobs… however they are just White Noise and Eye provides a platform for debate amongst professionals whatever their view, which is appreciated. If we can have a filter to block the Duopoly Spam Boys n Girls that would be an instant hit!

Come on Danny…. sing your song…. Oh Daaaaaaannneeeee Booooooy the Duopoly’s faaaaading….

Happy Birthday EYE and congratulations on what has been an eventful first year. We should have all met up to celebrate the special occasion, nice little party, a few quiet drinks, all sing happy birthday as one…….and then we could get into a discussion about portals, get hammered and kick the **** out of each other! Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday & well done to all involved at Eye for stimulating debate amongst Property Professionals. I don’t Twitter or Facebook so to get me to post at all says a great deal about how valued your Online Publication is to our industry.

A mixture of facts, gossip and lots of opinion from every part of the EA industry. Well done, certainly enjoy reading all myself.  Would be nice to see some articles with genuine figures on the portals i.e. hitwise etc pulled directly by yourselves.  I’m sure most would find very interesting, and impartial.
