An estate agent who obsessively stalked his ex-girlfriend has been jailed.
Tobias Gorman, 30, was ordered by a court to stay away from Sophie Adnett in June last year after he spent several months harassing her.
But Gorman ignored the order and ended up assaulting Adnett in her own home on two separate occasions.
He was jailed for three-and-a-half years at Bournemouth Crown Court yesterday after admitting assault by beating, stalking and breaching a restraining order.
Gorman and Adnett were in a relationship between September 2017 and January 2019.
Following their split, Gorman sent her over 100 emails and left her 146 voicemails with content of a sexual nature.
The now former estate agent also pleaded guilty to harassing another victim, Jessica Andrews, who he sent several messages to after breaking up with her in January 2019.
Rob Griffiths, defending, said Gorman admitted he was “a fool” who needed help to tackle his “obsessive” behaviour in relationships.
He commented: “Everyone including him recognises he needs serious help to tackle his obsessive behaviour.”
Sentencing, Judge Stephen Climie said Gorman could be considered dangerous if he did not change his ways.
He said: “You have come from a privileged background and your behaviour has damaged Miss Adnett very seriously indeed.
“There has been an accumulation of incidents with additional aggravating factors and even in prison you couldn’t contain yourself because of your obsession.
“You need help and you need to take it.”
Don’t get why Journos always need to compartmentalise what a person does for a living. This bloke is just a sad creep with mental health issues who happens to work for an agent – he could just as easily have been a tesco delivery driver.
