Google-backed proptech firm signs up first agents to create their own digital assistant

Five firms have been named in the first group to take part in a six-month programme run by proptech firm askporter to develop a customised artificial intelligence (AI) system.

Askporter, which received financial backing from Google last year, already provides a concierge service that lets tenants report maintenance issues through an artificial intelligence chatbot, and is now helping other firms develop their own systems.

The Porter Pioneers’ programme will help automate the workflow of letting agents and other firms in the sector by creating a bespoke digital property assistant and concierge service for each brand.

Warwick Estates, Let-Leeds, POD Management, Wisag and F%ur are the first companies to sign up to the programme.

Curran McKay, chief commercial officer at askporter, said: “We are delighted to be sharing Porter’s talents with such a diverse set of property and facility management companies with our first group of Pioneers.

“By working closely with their senior management and client facing teams we will deliver a comprehensive digital property assistant and concierge to their brand and company specifications.

“I’m confident that through enhanced customer service and the automation of their low-value, repetitive tasks, these pioneering property managers can concentrate on winning new instructions and business whilst potentially doubling the number of properties under management without adding headcount.”
