Housing minister to run for next Conservative leader and PM

Housing minister Kit Malthouse has become the tenth candidate for leader of the Conservative party and the next prime minister.

Malthouse, 52, became an MP in 2015 and was handed the housing brief last summer.

He has been a low profile housing minister, with colleague Heather Wheeler seeming to engage far more with the role.

Writing in the Sun newspaper today, he says: “There is a yearning for change out there. I believe I’m the new face, with fresh new ideas, from a new and talented generation.

“This leadership campaign cannot be about the same old faces, scarred by the wars that have split the Tory Party over the last three years.”

Of his time as housing minister, he says it has been his “mission to build more high-quality homes as fast as we can”.

There is no deserving or capable candidate in the Torie party.

Many back stabbers who would sell their own granny.

IF Boris is their best hope God Help this country.

The Tories have been attacking us since G Osborne on S24.

Regs and fines for the sector

    U credit

They have turned their back on the small businesses.

D Cameron now wants to come back with his mate Osborne.

Then we have Labour if they get in then we might as well give up working.  Both parties intend on raiding your hard earned cash.

He’s got no chance. The Tories need someone who can deliver a firm consensus and be in control. All political parties are waking up to the idea that they got too big for their own boots and MP’s went off on their own personal agendas and stopped thinking about the values of that political party represents to its followers. The country has had enough of spin, being ignored and values degraded by playing to the cameras.

Anyone else watch the last episode of ‘Game of Thrones’ when they were trying to decide the next King / Queen?

Sansa Starks unknown uncle stood up and put himself forward before everyone looked at him in bewilderment and asked him to sit down.

    This.
