allAgents has responded to Purplebricks’ statement that it doesn’t want to work with the reviews site – saying that it has no wish to work with Purplebricks.
Purplebricks yesterday issued a statement describing its experience of allAgents’ service as “extremely poor”.
allAgents’ Martin McKenzie said: “When it comes to the 300,000 reviews on our site, we don’t want to work with Purplebricks, or any agent for that matter. We work for the consumer.
“Unlike other sites, we have no commercial agreements with agents, which is why the reviews are a fair reflection of consumers’ experiences – good and bad.
“We’ re a business of course, and agents pay us for such services as branding and property listing on the site.
“But if we took agents’ money for our reviews service the independence of these reviews would be compromised, and that’s something we’ll never do. We welcome Purplebricks’ comments – we’ve heard them before from other agents.
“In our experience it’s usually the rogue ones who throw their toys out of their pram, whilst the good ones value our site and address any negative comments they might receive on it.
“We know we’re doing something right, when our genuine reviews cause a bit of a stir.
“ It means the consumer’s voice is being heard.
“We will continue to moderate reviews of Purplebricks on our site – entirely free of charge to them.
“And we’ll continue to ensure the consumer has an independent platform where their voice is truly heard.”
This has all become quite immature hasn’t it.

Well done Allthe agents..this will only help your brand. I wont go on it though becuase those pesky customers (about 30% last count) who keep complaining about my upfront fees might go on it.
Best Wishes
Mr Brucey-Woody-Willis.

Thomas: am I right in guessing your are amongst those that think reviews – especially Google reviews – can be usefully ignored?

You’ve done well to get a comment from Mr McKenzie – I have written two letters to him and he hasn’t even had the decency to acknowledge them, let alone reply.

We are witnessing the death throes of review sites, and this sorry saga has highlighted that. Consumers increasingly only refer to – and write – Google reviews and businesses that persist in ignoring that will fail, along with the review sites themselves.
Meanwhile the reviews sites that remain active in the UK (did anyone question why the big daddy of them all – Yelp – packed its bags over a year ago now?) will flounder around trying to ‘fool some of the people…’.
Find a mechanism that a) get’s reviews to Google and is b) compliant with the CMA regulations and, importantly, does not allow your competitor to say ‘Of course their reviews are great, they only ask happy customers to review them’.

Well done AllAgents. Mr McKenzies comments are absolutely spot on. It is and always has been the rouge agents that shout the loudest.
Purplebricks are better of throwing the towel in, this must seriously be damaging their reputation

Allagents – a site that has been completely high jacked by agents and has zero significance in the public domain. Surprised this continues to be news. Certainly not a PB fan but this is barely an itch to them.

‘Barely an itch’ – so they send the lawyers in? I suggest you get a friend in the US to google Purplebricks and then you will see what kind of an ‘itch’ this represents.

Well you shouldn’t be surprised that they would make a statement. You would be letting PB off the hook if all the media coverage was propaganda PB. What is wrong with the other half of the dozen. We, after all have all been allowed to have our say.

Interesting that the reviews on the site echo exactly the opinions of the vendors that I’ve met that have had the misfortune of using PB!!

Don’t believe a word of it, a small independent chain with an office in our Town has a horrendous reputation, has done for years though surprise surprise their online reviews on Allagent are glowing ? Obviosuly some agents know how to work the system.

Jonnyswan73 I couldn’t agree more, just look at the reviews Purplebricks have on Trustpilot! Strange how they have over 30,000 five star reviews and yet on AllAgents only 9% of their customers would recommend them! There are many poor high street agents but at the end of they day you can change agents without costing you a penny whereas with Purplebricks you will lose a considerable amount of money.

Actually, Sunbeam175 – they don’t.
Funny how the hype makes you believe the ******** they spread…
