New lettings code: here’s the latest link!

We apologise to those readers who could not make the link work on Friday’s story about the new letting industry code.

We used the correct working link that we had been given, but unknown to us, this was taken down by the RICS to correct a minor mistake, and a new link substituted.

Notification came later in the day, via the helpful TDS, but clearly a number of readers will not have been able to access the code.

The new link appears below and also on Friday’s story, which is towards the bottom of the page.

Interesting read and clearly is very biased towards lettings management. Where it all falls down is the private landlord doing their own management or not! and this is where 90% of the problem is. I welcome cleaning up the current system but I see it is all one sided. There is absolutely no mention of tenants responsibilities and from my side of the fence 99% of my work is sorting out the tenants from hell. Maybe one of these working parties would like to try and be a landlord themselves and see what happens in the real world with their money.
