Lomond Capital, the company rapidly buying up independent agencies from Aberdeen down to Brighton, is looking to push into the London market.
A deal is on the cards by the end of this year.
Lomond is currently operating in Aberdeen, Edinburgh, St Andrews, Manchester, Birmingham and Brighton.
In a revealing interview, Lomond boss Stuart Pender says that the aim is to grow the company further via acquisition, and to run the business based on five regions.
The firm has so far acquired some 30 agency businesses, which keep their own branding and are expected to go on and make acquisitions of their own as they consolidate local markets.
Lomond’s latest acquisition was a majority stake in the highly rated Brighton & Hove firm of Brand Vaughan.
The company announced it had gained £37.5m acquisition funding earlier this year.
It also recruited Bruce Evans, who previously headed Countrywide’s operations in London and the south, and who is now managing director. He is expected to move up to become CEO, according to the piece in the Scotsman.
