Gorgeous estate agent offices: And these are rather wee!

Here is a candidate for our occasional series on beautiful, quirky and interesting agents’ offices – and they certainly do not come any more interesting than this one.

We hope you agree, Ladies and Gents!

The Old Loos was a disused toilet block which is now home to Portsmouth agents Brewers.

The conversion of The Old Loos was designed by multi-disciplinary firm McAndrew Martin and was commended in the Best Re-Use category at the Portsmouth Society’s Design Awards.

Brewers Sales and Lettings is a family-run independent founded in 2004. How fantastic that it saw the potential of this building for its new headquarters.

You can see the ‘before’ and ‘after’ version of The Old Loos, and also the industrial theme of the interior.

It’s hardly bog standard.

In time-honoured fashion, we expect our readers to be flush with comments.

What came first the offices or the name of the agency ‘Brewers’?

A lot of people might pooh-pooh the idea of converting a toilet block but i imagine it will help this agent become number one (or number two) in their area while their competitors go down the pan…

Must be tempting to invite clients to “pop in and see us at our convenience”…

Probably thinks it should have been converted to a ‘P brick’ call centre.

These folks have the money, the reputation and the confidence in their local reputation to invest a bit more than a sign saying ‘office’ to stick on the wall in the alcove under the stairs.

Most of the passive intermediary listers aren’t making enough money to afford the flooring in that office let alone the purchase price, professional fees, conversion and fitting out costs. The vision alone sets this agent and this story out as brilliant!

As opposed to “would you like a mortgage appointment to discuss the largest financial commitment you’ll likely ever make with an anonymous person on the end of a phone, sat in a call centre, that you’ll never meet?”

Sadly, they will only attract low value clients. Ones who only want to spend a penny…

Great idea for an office although I understand they had to ask George Michael to politely leave the office last week.

What about wheelchair access?   Is it too much to ask that a project of this size includes sorting out the step at the door…..

How do you know they haven’t got  ramp that they put out to allow disabled access? And before you say it, I don’t know if they have or not, but I’m not making an assumption either way…….

Joking apart…I looked at this building when it was up for sale..it wasn’t lot of money but was sold as seen and smelt. Well done Brewers

Decided its conversion would be a piece of p#**
