Almost half of all letting inquiries to one London agent are from people living in mainland Europe.
Benham & Reeves Residential Lettings say that since the Leave vote, the number of applicants from Europe has jumped from 25% to 47%.
Most of the new inquiries have been from professionals in the finance sector, with many expressing the view that if they relocate to the UK and secure a job before secession is negotiated, they will be able to continue working here.
The agent says it is also seeing strong interest from overseas investors keen to capitalise on the falling pound and anticipate strong demand from tenants.
