It seems that in the future the standard of grammar and punctuation for estate agents will be of a very low quality.
Ironic also that such an item labelled “Private and Confidential” is now simply not!

Lol. I can’t believe how badly written that is. The thing that really frustrates me about that letter is an over promise that they could achieve more money for the client. We have a property on the market currently at ‘Offers Over’ 600 and after 2 months we have 2 offers at £600k, she then gets a knock at the door from an Agent claiming they cold achieve 700k easily! I don’t mind touting but you don’t act like a sleazy car salesman trying to rip people off with lies at their own front door.

I can’t believe I made a spelling mistake after getting upset about how badly something was written. I blame the small letters on my phone. It should be *could not cold obviously.

Looking at RM the only agent to have sold a property at 575k recently is Mishon Mackay. Make of that what you will 😉

Unfortunately a sad reflection on the low standards that some agents think acceptable. People form a perception on what they see, read or hear and would a vendor really believe in this agent’s ability when the agent can’t be bothered to phrase their letter correctly.

It’s a little close to the bone, I do believe they are breaking a couple of laws by canvassing so specifically and badly written is just not done.

For the date, my guess is that they were going for ‘April 7th 2016′, which they entered as ’04/07/2016’. Up popped Word Help and said ‘Do you mean the 4th of July?’ and the agent mistakenly said ‘Yes’.
But then, surely Word Help would have popped up constantly during the text and said ‘I can see you’re writing a load of codswallop. Are you attempting a poem?’ or something like that… which the buffoon chose to ignore!

A couple of years ago, I received a request for a reference from “Foxtons” regarding one of our tenants who was moving. I noted 16 grammatical and spelling errors in their letter! I high-lighted them in yellow marker and sent it back, advising them that if they would like to take more care over their correspondence, I would be happy to reply by return. They did not re-submit the request and the tenant still moved into the property let by Foxtons.
