Estate agents’ nightmare on Downing Street! It’s surely not . . .

It is certainly – with one exception – every estate agent’s worst nightmare.

Furthermore, a nightmare on Downing Street.

That one exception is Russell Quirk, the bad boy of estate agency, seen here standing at the door of Number 10.

Naturally, the self-effacing and publicity-shy Quirk, founder of eMoov, could not resist sharing his selfie on Facebook, where he wrote: “Popped in to see George this morning with my housing policy ideas as he asked for. He was out so I left with a neighbour.”

However, the property industry can heave a sigh of relief: this is not actually 10 Downing Street, but another front door in London with a likeness to Britain’s most famous threshold.

Quirk yesterday brazenly tried to maintain the fiction, telling EYE: “Don’t blame me for the buy-to-let / second home stamp duty hike. I only popped in for a quick coffee

“Anyhow, I was just trying things out for when I’m PM.”

Mind you, we bet even Jeremy Corbyn takes better selfies!

Really Ros? I can build a system capable of out-performing Rightmove on a natural Google search and it’s considered a plug to mention it, Russell Quirk stands  outside 10 Downing Street looking dishevelled and its news?

On reflection the fact he got through security looking road ragey like David Cameron’s  Chauffer had cut him up on the  Westminster Roundabout probably is a story.

Russell Quirk isn’t the bad boy of the industry, I can think of some seriously nasty and dishonest people who should hold that title; thieves and conmen who have gone to jail for what they’ve done. I’m really surprised anyone would want to promote themselves  in such a way but would have to applaud and respect their honesty as a single saving grace.

More free advertising and another non-story about the owner of an online “agency”. Boring and not newsworthy.

StatementOfFact. You really don’t have much of a sense of humour, do you.

Trouble is while it is a joke, it isn’t funny.  Where there is banter and rutting with the likes of Adam and Glenn, normal competitive stuff, there is a genuine widespread disdain for the way  Mr Quirk carries on and the claims he makes.

Publishing the story, reinforcing the  bad boy antagonist image and  effectively condoning his ways and antics is something Eye is at liberty to do but the readership isn’t compelled to like it.
