The Guild of Property Professionals has launched a new compliance management platform aimed at helping estate and letting agents keep track of regulatory requirements and key deadlines.
Called Compliance Guardian, the system provides Guild members with a centralised platform to monitor compliance obligations, store documentation and receive automated reminders when renewals or actions are due.
The launch comes as regulatory demands on agents continue to increase, with firms facing potential financial penalties if mandatory registrations, insurance policies or compliance requirements lapse.
The platform allows users to track a range of key obligations, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML) supervision, Professional Indemnity Insurance, Client Money Protection and Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) registration.
According to The Guild, the system has been developed to help agents maintain oversight of compliance requirements and reduce the risk of missing important deadlines.
Paul Offley, compliance officer at The Guild, said: “Many agents underestimate the financial consequences of missing compliance deadlines. Something as simple as overlooking an AML Supervision renewal can have serious implications. HMRC calculates penalties based on business turnover during the period an agent was unsupervised, and I have personally seen fines reach as much as £55,000.”
“Compliance requirements are becoming increasingly complex, and agents are already managing multiple responsibilities across their businesses. Compliance Guardian has been designed to simplify the process by providing clear visibility of upcoming deadlines, secure document storage and timely reminders. It helps ensure that critical compliance requirements are never overlooked.”
The launch of Compliance Guardian expands The Guild’s compliance support offering and is designed to help members manage increasing regulatory requirements.
Offley added: “Our goal is simple: to make compliance management easier, more visible and less time-consuming. By helping Members stay organised and informed, we can reduce risk and minimise the potential for costly regulatory fines.”
Compliance Guardian provides members with a practical and proactive solution to compliance management, helping them maintain accurate records, meet regulatory requirements and focus on delivering exceptional service to their clients.
