Estate agents hit the ground running

More than 50 property professionals took part in the inaugural Propertymark One Fun Run, raising more than £2,000 for The Propertymark Trust.

Held before the start of the annual conference, participants gathered in the early morning to complete a 5km course. The event attracted runners of all abilities, from experienced athletes to walkers, with the shared aim of supporting the industry’s charitable foundation.

The fundraising total included £1,000 generated directly from the run, with additional donations collected throughout the day. Further contributions came from sales of mental health workbooks created by David Mintz and signed copies of Hacking Humanity donated by keynote speaker Lara Lewington.

One participant completed the course in a dinosaur costume, adding a light-hearted touch to the event and helping to attract further support from delegates.

Participants received medals on completing the challenge, which became a talking point throughout the conference as attendees celebrated their achievement and the funds raised for charity.

Angharad Trueman, a trustee, as well as group lettings director of Andrews Property Group, said: “The response to our first Propertymark One Fun Run has been incredible. Seeing more than 50 people up before sunrise, encouraging one another around the course and raising such an amazing amount for The Propertymark Trust was genuinely inspiring.

“From serious runners chasing personal bests to walkers enjoying the experience – and even a dinosaur crossing the finish line – the event perfectly demonstrated the supportive and inclusive spirit of our industry. The support shown through the additional donations for David’s workbooks and Lara’s signed books made the achievement even more special, and we hope this is just the beginning of an annual tradition.”

Megan Eighteen, also a trustee for the Propertymark Trust, added: “There was something really special about seeing so many people swapping business attire for running shoes before the conference had even begun. The Propertymark One Fun Run brought people together, created lasting memories and, most importantly, raised vital funds for an incredible charity.

“Seeing participants wearing their medals with pride throughout the conference, alongside the smiles created by our dinosaur runner, perfectly captured the spirit of the event. The support for the mental health workbooks and Lara Lewington’s signed books showed just how willing our industry is to back initiatives that make a genuine difference, and I’m sure next year’s event will be even bigger.”
